• Similarly hearing m30 LH 3.0 as Gn

Oh wait, I forgot these two were intentional. It's easier to play the chromatic pitch than to repeat the note at that speed (which is why I had those). I'd like to revert that before it's added to the site pls.

Quote from: Kricketune54 on May 20, 2024, 09:49:15 AM• I think Inti Creates should be listed in credits given they were developer "Inti Creates, Capcom"
Ok sure, I'll add them too.

Quote from: Kricketune54 on May 20, 2024, 09:49:15 AM• What is the reason to credit Ippo Yamada as the composer? Wiki lists 4 composers for this game and I didn't come across anything that singled out Ippo for the track

Yamada is listed three times as the sole composer.

Quote from: Latios212 on May 12, 2024, 11:53:08 AM- The arpeggios in the original in first half of m. 5 outline Dm7 and G7b9 chords. How would you feel about incorporating those additional notes into the left hand? (e.g. play the seventh on beat 1.25/2.25 instead)
hmm. I'm not sure I like that solution but I do see that there is room for improvement here. The 7th (C) in the Dm7 that low sounds too muddy for my liking, and that's not going to really change the chord quality as drastically as the next chord. For the G7b9 I've kept the arpeggio shape from the first beat but added in the notes from the original. Trying to play that Ab from the G was a little too prone to being "missed" for me. Check it out and tell me what you think.

Quote from: Latios212 on May 12, 2024, 11:53:08 AM- In the second half of m. 6 (RH), the secondary voice jumping above the melody seems a bit disorienting to me on piano, despite them being laid out that way in the original. Thoughts on inverting downwards to keep the main melody on top as it is everywhere else?
That seems unnecessary imo. Not only is it easier to play as written, it's how this specific iteration is meant to sound. We can always go play the GSC version if we long for that c:

Quote from: Latios212 on May 12, 2024, 11:53:08 AM- m. 12 beat 2 RH is actually a triplet beginning on D - did you intentionally simplify this to make it easier to lead into the tremolo?
Yes. Reaching down for the sounding D that starts the triplet would have made the jump much more demanding on the player, when it is essentially just an ornament.

Quote from: Latios212 on May 12, 2024, 11:53:08 AM- m. 15 LH beat 2: I hear G-G# instead of G#-A
- m. 16 LH beat 4.5: I hear another low G here
- m. 18 LH: I hear G on beat 1 and the octave of beats 2-2.5 flipped (I suppose this would apply to the coda measure as well)

Hi Bloop! Thanks for looking at this one.

So some of my comments are going to have a similar theme here which is: the tempo (whichever is chosen) IS the challenge with this piece. When things seem overly simple, its because the challenge doesn't come from the possibility to play the notes and rhythms, but to do so at a very quick tempo.

Quote from: Bloop on May 02, 2024, 03:44:15 AM-If you want, you could add a grace note a semitone below the top note in places like m4 beat 3 (R.H.) to imitate the guitar slide.
I intentionally left this out because it was awkward to play at tempo and that measure currently serves as a point of rest from the three that precede it.

Quote from: Bloop on May 02, 2024, 03:44:15 AM-For the first 10 measures, you could also do the repeats as playing the first four bars 3 times, and then just writing out the fourth time as normal. Might be a bit easier to follow then a normal repeat and then a first+second ending repeat, and it saves a little bit of space too.
More-or-less the same idea, yeah. I thought what I had would be simpler to follow, and since there are other repeats I thought it would be less to think about if they all repeated only one additional time. I'm not strapped for space at all, so saving that little bit won't matter in the long run.

Quote from: Bloop on May 02, 2024, 03:44:15 AM-m27: The courtesy natural on the F isn't necessary here anymore, it's been a while since there's been an F#.
Thank you, I've removed it.

Quote from: Bloop on May 02, 2024, 03:44:15 AM-m31-34: There are probably countless ways to approach the rhythm section here in the L.H., but maybe you could add the D-G# on m32 beat 1, and a low E bass note on m34 beat 3, to fill up a bit of empty space?
The space was intentional, again because of the speed/playability thing.

Quote from: Bloop on May 02, 2024, 03:44:15 AM-m37-52: The L.H. part feels a bit crampy to play (especially at the original tempo), I think mostly because of the added third in the L.H. chords. I don't think it's necessarily being played by the guitar anyway, so maybe you could leave those out? I think the fortissimo dynamic + the extra chord tones in the R.H. are enough to spice up this part in comparison to others.
Honestly, when I play it with and without the third I don't notice a difference in cramping. I even get the same soreness when playing the octaves with no held notes in the middle. The wrist-rolling is going to cramp no matter what's in the middle, I think.

Thank you so much for taking the time to check out my little arrangement! :>

Quote from: cashwarrior1 on April 13, 2024, 02:01:22 PMm2/20 LH b4 is an Fn (instead of G). I also hear that note repeated on b4.5[/li][/list]
Thanks, yep I'll change that over. I'd rather leave that last eighth off though and just leave it for the tremolo.

Quote from: cashwarrior1 on April 13, 2024, 02:01:22 PMm14-15 the RH triplets outline the chords a little, so b1.67 would be F, b2.67 A, (m15)b1.67 E, b2.67 A(?). It'd also be easier to play than repeating the same note

Good catch! I had to adjust the last one a touch and it's admittedly a tad more awkward, but should be fine. This is great, it will be so much easier to play this way! Thank you.
never have I seen decimals depict triplet values... huh. Took me a sec even though I knew what you were trying to say XD

Quote from: cashwarrior1 on April 13, 2024, 02:01:22 PMAlso thoughts on including the inner harmonies for m4? (that's my favorite part)

I originally left that out for playability and to keep things sounding "cleaner" in the LH, but that actually is pretty nifty to play with the RH. I've added a touch of it in!

Quote from: yeebo on April 13, 2024, 12:10:16 PMI posted an identical transcription of flight club months, maybe even a year ago to the discord. Down to the chord changes up top, a rare feature of the sheet music on this site. Sigh. Mazel Tov on the 20 years. Maybe someday I'll get a post on here approved.
Since you registered this account today, I'm assuming you didn't submit it here on the forums? That's how the process works, usually.

Heavily edited for playability purposes.

Really cool stuff. Great work, y'all! As someone who knows nothing about how this works, is a dark theme a possibility? Sure would make things easier on the eyes! ^^;
