Well i don't think you have to worry about ledgeguarding, since that's not in Smash 4. Tilts are just basic inputs that you probably do anyway. Meteor smashes are moves that some characters can do that send the opponent down ridiculously fast.

tilt is when you learn the control stick in some direction and hit attack button, but not simultaneous to cause a smash attack.  Go in training mode and it will quickly become clear.  Meteor smash is the effect certain attacks have (mario's spike, captain falcon down aerial and up-tilt, marth down aerial, etc) that cause characters to 'smash' downwards, either hitting the ground as if being knocked down (unless you can dodge out of it that fast) or usually being an instant kill if offstage (at a high enough percentage) due to the speed at which it launches you downward.
