Music / Poll: Tanioka VS. Sakimoto
« on: June 13, 2009, 07:56:44 PM »
I thought this would be an interesting poll. Everyone always associates Final Fantasy music with Nobuo Uematsu, but there are several other composers who have worked on the series that deserve more recognition than they are given. For those of you who don't know, Kumi Tanioka wrote the soundtracks for the FF: Crystal Chronicles series and the majority of the music for FFXI. Sakimoto wrote the music for the FF: Tactics series and the majority of the music for FFXII.

Help! / PC Help
« on: January 24, 2009, 09:34:33 PM »
Hey guys. I need some help. Everytime I download an MP3, or hit "Music Sample" on a website it opens in RealPlayer instead of Windows Media Player. I want the default to be windows media player instead. I can't seem to figure out how to change it. My default for MP3s already on my PC is media player, but not when I download something.

Movies & TV / Anime and Manga suggestions.
« on: January 24, 2009, 08:39:17 PM »
Hey. Can anybody here suggest some good anime or manga for me? I've got some guidelines that I want to follow though...

-No nudity
-Minimal sexual content
-no strong language

Some of the anime's that I have REALLY enjoyed are

Bleach (My favorite so far)
Speed Racer (The old one, in Japan it's known as Mach Go-Go)
Voltron (or Go-Lion)
Gundam (G gundam was my fav)
Pokemon
Hamtaro
Ruroni Kenshin
Avatar
Gigantor
Sonic X
Yu-Gi-Oh (First series, not the new ones.)
Megaman NT Warrior/Megaman Xcess.

I've seen a few episodes of these, and liked what I saw...

Case Closed
.//hack
Yuyu hakasho
Zatch Bell
IGPX
Naruto

AS far as Manga, I've read some of the Pokemon Manga and stuff. I've been meaning to pick up Mark Crilley's Miki Falls series, and I've been meaning to get the Bleach complete set volume 1

Also I have liked EVERY SINGLE HAYAO MIYAZAKI MOVIE I HAVE EVER SEEN ......which isn't many though....I've seen Kiki's Delivery Service (classic!!!!) and part of Princess Mononoke and part of Spirited Away.

Feedback / New Mod.
« on: January 16, 2009, 09:09:06 PM »
I think we need to elect a fourth Moderator. We only seem to update the sheets like once every five months, and two of our three Mods are rarely on. So, here's what I propose. I think we should hold nominations for a certain period of time. After that, we take all the nominees and have everybody vote to pick to the mod. What do you think?

Gaming / Saddest Gaming Moments
« on: January 09, 2009, 04:46:22 AM »
What would consider the saddest gaming moments of any you have experienced? Mine would probably be....

When Ike found out how his mom died in Fire Emblem: Path of Radience...the artwork and music that went along with it just added to the saddest.....excellent artwork!!

In Lost Odyssey, the dream sequence called "Hannah's Departure." It's really sad...but the writing is SOOO good....and the music is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good!!!!!!!!

When the Wind Waker credits rolled.....cause that meant the game was over =(

Edit: NEW ONE  When Edward found out that Anna(That was her name, right?) was dead in Final Fantasy IV.

Microsoft / Your 360 collection
« on: January 03, 2009, 01:59:10 AM »
Post your Xbox 360 collection, mine is....

Eternal Sonata
Lost Odyssey

Hehe! Pretty small right! I've only had my 360 for a few months, and I've mostly been buying DS, Wii, and PS2 games lately. (Yes, I'm still buying PS2 games!!!)  Eternal Sonata is AWSOME!!!! for those of you who have not played this game, please do yourself a favor and go buy it NOW!!!!!!!! It's by far the prettiest looking game I've ever seen. (If you've read the Gamespot reviews then you'd know that!) The music (Motoi Sakuraba/Frederic Chopin) is phenominal, and the storyline is excellent. It's a bit strange though, not many games cover the topic of death in the aspect of fear of one's mortality, while at the same questioning true reality. Like I said, GO BUY ETERNAL SONATA NOWZ!!!!!!!!
Lost Odyssey is rocking awsome too! Mistwalker has become my new favorite game studio...Hironobu Sagaguchi + Tetsuya Nomura + Nobuo Uematsu = RPG HEAVEN!!! Of course, we all knew them as the famous Square-Enix trio....until they all quit that is.

Off-Topic / A Wallpaper I made
« on: December 29, 2008, 01:54:31 AM »
I hadn't made anything on GIMP in a while, and I was getting tired of my wallpaper, so....heres what I came up with. (And for all you GIMP peoples out there, The character is a Clean Style Vector, and the background was made with the Flame filter and the Spark Brush)
It's not too plain is it? I thought that is looked kind of nice. Opinions anyone?

It's nutty, ridiculous, zany, and stupid, but SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much fun!!!! Anybody that has an extra 1500 Wii points go download this right now!!! It's the best $15 I've ever spent!

Off-Topic / Band Wars - Round 1
« on: December 18, 2008, 10:05:30 PM »
Okay. I remember something like this back on NSider, so I though I might try it here. I'll post a set of bands and then you vote for which one you think is the best out each round. I'll cover everything from classic bands to comtemporary bands. So, start voting! If you would like to request a band, then please, be my guest. (And put my service to the test! XD)

Help! / Eternal Sonata MIDIs
« on: December 09, 2008, 02:36:29 AM »
Can anyone find ANY Midis for Eternal Sonata. I've looked all over the place for some, and have not found any. The pieces from this game are VERY complex, and would take a very long time to arrange from ear alone. I'd like to arrange the entire Eternal Sonata soundtrack. (It's composed by Motoi Sakuraba if that helps.)

Forum Games / The Guess Game

THE GUESS GAME

Okay, here's how it works. I'll post three hints. The first person to guess what it is gets a point. I'll keep a scoreboard at the top of the post. See how many points you can get.

Scoreboard

Round #1

  • Hint 1 - It's a TV Show
  • Hint 2 - Ferret Face
  • Hint 3 - Section 8
