Lost SEVEN out of eight games in Pokemon Regionals today, all of them were very close games. While it was exciting at first it made me incredibly upset in the end thanks to the fact that I let my grandmother down because I never appeared on the stream because I sucked too much, and I feel just shattered. It would be one thing if I was completely annihilated, but in this case I was so close in every game, and the one I won was just due to some lucky RNG on my part, not due to skill so it didn't feel like a win to me... I would have practiced earlier but my stupid home state bans video game tournaments so I barely get the chance to even practice... So I'm unsure what to feel right now, except very upset that I likely disappointed my grandmother and all the friends I told to keep an eye out for me. (Nobody said hi to me over there and I posted that I would show up on nearly every website I go on...)

I don't really know too much about these tournaments, but if you can't practice, the best thing to do is to watch other people play(if you can) and watch what they do or don't do well and apply that in your own play.

State of Iowa bans all video game tournaments that give away prizes due to an anti-gambling law made ages ago. the only exception are those dumb trackball golf games you can find in bars, and it's never been updated. I really hate it. Therefore we can't even have an official tournament in the video game because of the prizes.

They tried to fix it last year but of course it never went anywhere...
